St Philip’s College Music Tuition Program was established in the early 1990s and has a fine reputation for producing talented musicians. Students take their lessons during school hours, however, the program is run separately to the College’s normal curriculum. Music Tuition lessons are complimentary to the College’s Music Curriculum, with students using what they have learnt in their Music Tuition lessons in their normal music classes. Most lessons are one-on-one and are catered to each student’s individual progression. Whilst graded tuition is not standard, those students who wish to complete AMEB grades or similar can do so.
Tuition fees are competitively priced, in fact, the costs are less than learning privately. Fees are $260 per term.
Lessons are offered on the following instruments: Brass – trumpet, French horn, trombone Strings – violin, viola, cello, double bass Woodwind – clarinet, flute, saxophone Pop Band instruments – guitar, drums, electric bass Piano Voice plus Music Theory.
